HOW TO FILTER DELAYED ACTIVITIES IN PRIMAVERA P6?
In this article, we will be providing you with how to filter the activities that have actual performance percentages less than the scheduled percentages.
First of all, you need to assign a baseline to your project by clicking on “Maintain baselines” from the “Projects” tab and choosing your baseline, then click on “Assign baselines” from the same tab and choose your baseline once again.
Once the baseline is assigned to your project, schedule your project on the day that you want to filter your activities based on.
Then. From “columns”, choose “Schedule % complete” and “Activity % complete”.
“Schedule % complete” represents the percentage of the work that should be done by the date of the schedule for each activity (planned %), while “Activity % complete” represents the percentage of the actual work done by the date of the schedule for each activity.
To know whether there is a delay in the activities or not, we need to create a column that plots the difference between the planned % and the actual %, so we are going to create a new column called “% Variance”.
The steps to create a new column are:
- From “Enterprise”, choose “User Defined Fields”, then Add and name the new element as “% Variance” and choose the type “Number”.
- From “Tools”, choose “Global change”, then click “New”.
- Click on the middle window and click “Add” to create the equation of the column “%Variance”.
- The equation is as follows:
%Variance = Actual % – Scheduled %
- Click “Change”, then, click “commit changes” to save the changes.
- From “Columns”, choose “%Variance”
From ‘Filters’, apply the following filters:
- % Variance: less than 0.
The applied filter will show the activities with a negative % variance, as per the equation of % Variance, negative results indicate that the scheduled % of the activity is bigger than the actual %.
