Managing workers can be simple or hard depending on the approach you take while managing the workers. As a good project manager you need to make sure the workers are always in good moods and that the working atmosphere is a healthy one. The scope of this procedure is to help the project managers learn how best to ensure that there is a good atmosphere at work and that the site workers do not have any issues while working.

    Procedure

The first thing you have to do is to make sure that you have good communication skills. Screaming at the workers from time to time or putting them down will not help. You need to come down to their level and talk to them like fellow colleagues. In this way the site workers will always be free with you. You just have to make sure that you don’t overdo it because the workers may not respect you.

Happy workers will always produce better results. You need to come up with a way of ensuring that the workers are always happy. Do not make decisions that will affect them negatively. You also have to make sure that they are involved in the decision making process so that they feel appreciated. In this way the workers will own the project and will have better results.

Proper skills of managing workers also mean that you have a good system solving the problems that arise at work. You need to be on the fore front when it comes to solving problems that arise from the workers. The workers will feel like you are in charge when you are able to solve their problems or work related problems in a free and just manner.

Flexibility on your part is also very important while you are dealing with site members. You have to make sure that you understand the workers when they are late or when they do not perform as they are required. This however does not mean that you become too lenient with the workers because if you do so then the workers will not perform as they are required. A good project manager needs to know when to become firm and when they can just let things slip by.

Payment of the workers should always be timely. If the workers are not paid on time they will not be very happy at work. You need to realize that the workers have their own responsibilities at home and they therefore require to be paid for the services that they are providing. You also need to have a way of motivating the workers. Workers who are motivated will produce better because they will have the zeal to come to work every day. There are so many different ways of motivating the workers and not just money but you can give them bonuses if they have done a good job. You just have to make sure that you do not go too much out of budget just because you want to have happy workers.
