I have gone through all the material for the Week 1 of this very interesting (and should I say Highly Ambitious?) planning course. Please allow me to say that I am not an engineer by training so I find it a bit difficult to follow the BOQ line items. But I do get the hang of it and looking forward to Week 2.
I understand that the BOQ follows the CSI master format. So I wish the Main Activities spreadsheet also followed that format in both the tabs – Building and External Works. That would have made the exercise (assignment) more intuitive for non-engineers like me, as well as for all the other stakeholders who would be reading this document during project planning and execution.
And one last observation – where do I find the project start date? we do have references to various project milestones and finish milestones but without a clear project start date, we cannot have a clear project duration leading to the project finish date.
