      14 easy steps to create a gantt chart with Excel in 3 minutes

      14 easy steps to create a Gantt chart with Excel in 3 minutes, just follow the steps shown in the photos and you can download the sample excel template.


      Follow these simple 14 steps and Download Gantt Chart template at the end of this post.

      Step No. 1: create a table contains your activity name, start date, duration and finish date.

      Step no. 2:from the excel bar choose insert tape, then bar then choose stacked bar

      Step no. 3: right click in the chart area and choose select data.

      Step no. 4: from the select data window click Add.

      Step no. 5: Add the start date values into the series values.

      Step no. 6: Add a new value same we did in step no. 4 for the duration.

      Step no. 7: edit the horizontal axis values .

      Step no. 8: add the activities names in the horizontal axis values.

      Step no. 9: after adding all the data as per steps no. 5,6,7 and 8 just click OK

      Step no. 10: Right click on the blue bar and choose format data series.

      Step No. 11: from the fill menu choose no fill

      Step no. 12: right click on the axis include the activities name and choose format axis

      Step no. 13: from axis options check categories in reserve order.

      Step no. 14: now you have a gantt chart matching with your data in step no. 1, whenever you change any date or duration the bar chart will be changed automatically.
